Spotify Premium Plans

My main goal for this project was to develop a user-experience that exemplifies the unique aspects that Spotify offers. Colors and gradients are fluid and ever-changing like the beat of a song. The bright colors, yet bold and clean visual elements were sprinkled throughout various Spotify interfaces. Inspired by the fluctuation, I opted to explore a bold gradient to be the background and main design element for the redesign. The gradient in combination with the fluid shapes allows the interface to breathe and come alive. The objects suggest movement and flow matching the vibrations to a song. The overall interface is still familiar yet shifted enough to cause positive disruption. The curvilinear shapes and items floating around suggest ease and give the viewer a glimpse into the nature of their Spotify premium experience. Nothing is too complexed or overwhelming. All the information the user needs to decide on a plan is readily available and easy to understand.   

I’ve revitalized the “Pick your Premium” section utilizing icons, visual hierarchy, and colors. Sorting through the premium options shouldn’t be a chore; this redesign allows the user to explore and get curious about the different selections. Leading with the four icons helps the user to quickly identify which group they want to invest more time and/or money into. Cutting back on some text and offering more visual items makes the information more digestible. Since this is where the company makes a large portion of its revenue, highlighting the cost of each plan was a necessary change. This shift makes the important information clear to the user to limit confusion and increase memberships.

My execution of this redesign project highlights Spotify’s distinctive nature. Using colors, icons, and visual hierarchy I transformed the way a user would interact with their interface. All changes were made with a user-first mindset and showcase all the unique items Spotify has to offer.
